Antique Japanese Indigo Plaid

$60.00

A long (almost six feet) and narrow bolt of indigo-dyed plaid fabric. We believe that it is hand-spun linen, but we’re not 100% sure. This would be wonderful for making your own boro-type indigo patch-work, or just leaving as-is, perhaps as a table-runner. We found this in the beautifully-preserved Edo-period mountain village of Tsumago-juku (妻籠宿), in the Kiso Valley, Nagano Prefecture, Japan (see last image).
