Small photograph of an incredibly strange couple. One is a dapper, mustachioed gentleman in a heavy coat with a pocket square and a fedora, holding a cane. In his mouth is a small pipe, like an opium or hash pipe. His companion is a hulking figure in a bellboy’s uniform, who looks a lot like Richard Kiel. He is holding out his hand, as if for a tip, but his palm is facing down. I can’t even. It’s basically a Tom Waits song waiting to be written.
